Faith and spirituality
Someone who understands what you believe
For many of us, faith is part of how we get through worry, grief and family life. You can look for a professional who is comfortable talking about your faith, and some share it.

About HeartChat
Started in 2020, run by a charity
HeartChat began in 2020 with support from the Victorian Multicultural Commission. Today it is run by AIDMH (Australians for Intersectionality and Diversity in Mental Health), a registered charity. We believe everyone in Australia should be able to talk about their mental health in the language of their heart.
Why language and culture matter
Many people prefer a professional who shares their background. Studies have found that people matched with a professional by ethnicity or language tend to stay in care longer, and therapy offered in a person’s own language can work better.
