HeartChat is a project of AIDMH, a registered charity. Every dollar of your fee goes back into running HeartChat, and it keeps the site free for the public. The fee is usually tax deductible for you as a business expense.

Basic is free. Full helps more people find you.
Everyone starts with 6 months of Full, free. After that you choose. If you do nothing, your listing stays up as a free Basic listing.

Tell us your profession, registration number and languages. It takes about ten minutes.
We check your registration
We check the Ahpra register or your association’s member list, usually within two working days.
Go live with Full, free for 6 months
After that, keep Full for $33 a year including GST, or stay on a free Basic listing. We remind you before anything changes.

Common questions
How much does a listing cost?
There are two options. A Basic listing is free, always. A Full listing is $33 a year, including GST, and your first 6 months of Full are free. There are no contracts and no commission on your sessions. You keep 100% of your fees.
What is the difference between Basic and Full?
Both show your name, profession, languages, faith, communities, fees, phone and website, and both let people message you. Full adds your photo, a welcome line in your language, a booking link, your full profile text (Basic shows the first 80 words), your monthly numbers, and a chance to be featured on the home page. Full listings also appear higher in search results.
Is the fee tax deductible?
Every dollar of the fee goes back into running HeartChat, a project of the charity AIDMH. For most practitioners the fee is a business expense, so you can usually claim it at tax time. The fee includes GST and AIDMH sends you a tax invoice, so if you are registered for GST you can usually claim the GST back. Because you get a listing in return, the fee is a business expense rather than a donation. If you would like to give more, you can make a separate donation to AIDMH. AIDMH is a registered charity with Deductible Gift Recipient status, so donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
Who can list on HeartChat?
Psychologists, psychiatrists, GPs with mental health training, counsellors and psychotherapists registered with ACA or PACFA, accredited mental health social workers, mental health nurses, occupational therapists, creative arts therapists, peer workers, and services. You need to offer sessions in a language other than English, or have real experience with multicultural or faith communities.
How do you check registrations?
We check every new listing against the Ahpra public register or the member register of your professional association before it goes live. We check again when you change your registration details. Profiles that pass show a “Registration checked” badge.
I was on the old HeartChat. What happens to my profile?
We moved your details across so people can still find you. Please claim your profile to confirm and update it. As a thank you, founding members list free until 30 June 2027.
How do people contact me?
People send you a message through your profile. We pass it to your email, and you can see it on your listing page. Your email address is never shown on the website. You can also show a phone number, website and booking link.
Can I write my profile in my own language?
Yes. You can write your profile in any language, and add a welcome line in your language that shows at the top of your profile. The whole website can also be read in over 50 languages.
Can I pause or leave?
Yes. You can pause your listing at any time from your listing page. If you do not renew Full, your listing becomes a free Basic listing after 30 days, so people can still find you. Nothing is deleted unless you ask us to.
